Medical Assistant
Immediate opening for medical assistant with OB/GYN experience in North Dallas OB/GYN office. This is a very important position and holds a great deal of responsibility. We are in need of an MA who is professional, efficient, detail oriented, personable, and has a “can-do” attitude.
Duties include:
* Assist physician with pap smears, biopsies, exams.
* Order labs and imaging, confirm that patients get tests performed and that results are received and presented to physician.
* Contact patients with test results after physican review.
* Counsel patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about results, surgery.
* Assist with scheduling surgeries by making arrangements with the OR; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.
* Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
* Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
* Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
* Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
* Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
